ROLE:
As Senior Architectural Technologist / Architectural Technician your duties will include:
- Work closely with the Land Team to produce feasibility layouts for prospective sites
- Work with the development team to manage the design process from planning stage through to build stage, RIBA stages 1-3
- Review, comment and develop designs with site constraints in mind
- Contribute to planning applications and other regulatory application procedures
- Assist the DM with identifying the required surveys needed before work can commence, ensuring once completed they are incorporated into the design
- Prepare and present design proposals using computer-aided design (CAD) and other design software.
- Assist and engage with appropriate authorities (e.g. planning) when producing documentation for statutory approval
- Produce, analyse and advise on detailed specifications for suitable materials to be used based upon local principles and vernacular
- Produce design and access statement for planning to justify the design of the development
- Carry out design-stage risk assessments
- Provide input to the development team on BREEAM elements of the scheme at planning stage
- Input to and produce standard care home room layouts for use within the build contract
- Mange the work of trainee Technologists and contribute to the overall running of the business
- Potential future responsibilities as the business grows.
- Lead the detailed design process and coordinate design information with the construction team Design Manager
- Appraise the performance of buildings which are in use and refine the design process and principles.
- Develop the care home product
- Develop procedures within the business
REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this Architectural Technologist / Architectural Technician role you must meet the following criteria:
- Knowledge of Building / Residential Sector.
- Previous employment as an Architectural Technician / Architectural Technologist.
- Previous experience in building sector projects such as Commercial, Mixed Use, Residential, Apartment Blocks, Student Accommodation, Hotels, MOJ, Industrial or Education.
- Degree / HNC qualified in industry related subject.
- Desirable M/CIAT – Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists
