Quantity Surveyor – Civils / Infrastructure / Highways / Marine – Great Yarmouth

Opportunity to join one of the UK's most successful Tier 1 building & civil engineering main contractors, with a very stable and fast growing forward order book.
Located in Great Yarmouth, be part of a new project to construct a quayside facility for use by the offshore energy industry. It includes design and construct of a floating berth (pontoons, restraint piles, fixed bridges and articulating linkspans).
Involving significant civils works including sheet piling, tubular piling, river works, land-based works, earthworks and associated supporting infrastructure bringing together technical, logistical and ecological challenges.
Role:
Looking for a Quantity Surveyor to ensure the successful financial completion of multiple construction projects from pre-contract stage through to completion, as a key member of a successful project management team.
You will assist the commercial team within the company Infrastructure Division to deliver highways projects on a number of Frameworks with National Highways and Local Authorities with the initial project you will be working on located in Great Yarmouth.
Duties:
Commercial management of a number of projects within a Framework from inception to completion, including the following activities:
- Producing tender documents and quotations for new projects
- Negotiating target cost and fixed price quotations with clients
- Subcontract procurement from initial enquiry to negotiation and placement of order, and subsequent management of subcontract packages
- Commercial management of subcontractor accounts from commencement to negotiation and agreement of final accounts
- Preparation of monthly applications for payment to the client and ensuring timely certification and payment
- Preparation of monthly cost value reconciliation (CVR) reports
- Preparation of monthly cost and value to complete forecasts in conjunction with project teams
- Undertaking contractual notifications, early warnings, pricing compensation events / variations and the like
- Preparation of final accounts
- Risk management
- Development of supply chain relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors
Requirements:
To be considered for this QS role you must meet the following criteria:
*Previous work in a QS, Quantity Surveyor, Project Surveyor, QS, Commercial Manager or similar. role.
*Relevant construction or civil engineering qualification
*Previous main contractor employment
-Previous civils / highways or infrastructure project experience.
Remuneration:
The successful Quantity Surveyor will receive:
- £35k - £50k Basic (Dependent on experience)
