WANTED - Assistant Buyer or Buyer Considered – Building – Construction – Leeds / West Yorkshire + REMOTE WORK

Role:
You will be responsible for assisting in the effective procurement of materials and services in support of business unit requirements to ensure short and long-term value through implementation of sourcing strategies to achieve business objectives and/or the lowest total cost of ownership.
Job Duties:
- Raising purchase orders for plant and materials using an electronic ERP platform (Coins - previous knowledge not essential), utilising preferred supplier agreements whenever possible
- Management and execution of order requisitions received from sites
- Dealing with and resolving invoice queries
- Liaison with project teams on day-to-day matters
- Obtaining product technical and performance data as and when required
- Assisting with tender submissions to include obtaining tender quotes and undertaking quote analysis
- Identify and deliver added value when opportunities arise
- Liaising with the procurement and wider functions to promote new opportunities and innovation
- Assist other members of the procurement team as and when required
- Compliance to all company processes and procedures
- Carry out all reasonable instructions as requested by management, particularly with regard to improving KPI performance
Requirements:
To be considered for this Assistant / Buyer role you must meet the following criteria:
*Previous work in a Buyer, Supply Chain, Procurement or Purchasing role.
*Previous main contractor or construction indsutry related employment
*Proficient IT skills including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, and comfortable with numerical reasoning.
*Ideally experience of COINS within a major contractor environment
*Engaging communicator demonstrating influencing skills and an ability to adapt approaches to differing audiences
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Remuneration:
The successful Buyer will receive:
- £20k - £35k Basic
