Top 3 Sega Mega drive/ Genesis games

Tags: In this article we look at the Sega Megadrive/ Genesis consoles and in our opinion which 3 games were the best!!
Number 1 – Sonic the hedgehog 2 (1992)
Developed by Sega Technical Institute and produced by Shinobu Toyoda, Sonic the hedgehog 2 was the second in the sonic series. The game stars Sonic the Hedgehog and in this series, we are introduced to his sidekick Tails. Players can choose to play either sonic, tails or both, and a second player can join at any time.
To win the game, Sonic and Tails must stop Dr. Ivo Robotnik from stealing the Chaos Emeralds he needs to power his space station.
The game was played on many levels , all with there own unique twists, my personal favourite was chemical plant which had speed pads that would accelerate Sonics speed when stepped on.
Number 2 – Robocop versus the Terminator (1994)
programmed by Virgin Games USA and based on the 1992 comic book mini-series, this game was a classic.
Set around the RoboCop and Terminator franchises, this was an enjoyable game, fighting your way through streets of crime and most notably battling with the terminator.
Number 3- World cup Italia 90 (1990)
Produced by Sega for Megadrive, world cup Italia 90 was a football video game based on the 1990 world cup in Italy, and was the first football console game I can remember, in my mind a front runner for the future Fifa games, however not everyone shares this opinion as Mega placed the game at Number 5 in their list of the 10 Worst Mega Drive Games of All Time.
This doesn’t change my opinion, as this will always be a firm favourite of mine!!
